hello my friends. i hope you're enjoying your weekend and finding a little time to relax and enjoy some time with your family and friends. i have a couple canvases that are in the works, and sometimes they stop talking to me. today i made a really simple decision....i went into my studio, turned on some (loud) music and started an entirely new project! as i had hoped, this was all the inspiration i needed to shift my energy. soon the new and the the existing canvases started

inspiration and listening to the whispers

i started this giraffe a few months back - in March i believe. i started two giraffe canvases that day - one dark grey and the other off-white. the dark grey has given me a lot of difficulty. i completed the off-white canvas in april. but i have not been able to get this one to talk to me. the pictures below show a few of the transformations that this canvas has traversed as i attempt to bring it to life. and there were others along the way that i didn't capture because

inspiration and making room for it to grow

now that i am inspired to find a BIG home for my intense creativity, i find i am inspired to let go of the past by purging old stash so that new ideas and possibilities can be nurtured. i have definitely set aside a few items over the years that i intended to repurpose, such as cigar boxes - wooden and cardboard and decorated or otherwise. i've always liked boxes in general so i may have saved a couple iPhone boxes as well. and then there was the metal period where i thoug

    appreciate your journey

the holidays are upon us. we often arrive at this time of the year and remark at how quickly the seasons pass. and we take this time to give back through donations or volunteering time. i donate to american cancer society and to my local mspca where i can help my furry friends. i also enjoy donating clothing and items that are good quality to big brother big sisters. i appreciate that i wake up each day. i recognize how fortunate i am to have friends and family who love and

    mySociety6

i uploaded some images of my collage art to Society6 because i'm intrigued by what they offer. not only do they print a selection of photo paper prints or canvas prints or framed prints, but they also print on merchandise. at first i chuckled at the idea...my art on a shower curtain? or a bedspread? or a pillow? i just don't know... but then i got to thinking, why not! Society6 is used by hundreds of thousands of artists from around the globe. it was incredibly easy to set
